Assetto Corsa Competizione: getting started
1. Open your control panel
Log in at rapidhosting.uk, open your ACC service and click Open control panel. You're signed straight in: no second account. The How to join box at the top of the Console shows your server address and exactly how to connect.
2. Set up your event: the Race Setup tab
- Server name, track and cars (any car, GT3, GT4, GT2, GTC or TCX).
- Who can join: public for everyone, public for rated drivers, private with a join password, or unlisted. A spectator password is optional.
- Race weekend: add practice, qualifying and race sessions with their length, day and start time, time speed, pre-race wait, overtime and formation lap.
- Weather: temperature, clouds, rain and how much it changes.
- Pit stops and driver swaps: mandatory stops, pit window, drivers per car, stint and driving-time limits, refuelling and tyre rules.
- Driving assists that are allowed.
Press Save & restart. We convert everything into the special files ACC needs for you.
3. How many cars? (important)
ACC sets these limits, not us:
- Public, open to everyone: ACC allows 10 cars.
- Public, rated drivers (3 track medals and safety rating 70+): up to 30 cars.
- Private (join password) or unlisted: up to your plan's limit and the track's pit boxes (for example 82 at Spa, 110 on the Nürburgring 24h layout).
Pit rules, assists and the entry list only apply to private or unlisted servers: public servers use ACC's standard rules.
4. Entry list and balance of performance
Entry list: reserve car numbers, lock drivers to a car, set grid slots, driver categories, co-drivers, ballast and restrictor, and give league admins in-game admin rights. Drivers are matched by Steam ID (paste their Steam profile link), or press Add drivers from the last session to fill it in for you. Tick Only drivers on this list can join for league mode. Removing every car and saving deletes the entry list.
Balance of performance: extra weight (−40 to +40 kg) and restrictor (0–20%) per car and track, on top of ACC's own balance.
5. Admin commands
Press Show next to Admin password in the How to join box, then type /admin <password> in the game chat for commands like kicks, bans,
penalties and skipping sessions. Choose your own password in the Startup tab.
6. Live timing, championships and results: the Race tab
- Live timing: everyone on track, their laps, last and best lap and the gap to the leader, updating every few seconds. Laps appear as drivers complete them; the official classification for each session follows when it ends.
- Championship: every finished race counts automatically. Choose the points system (F1-style, top 8, everyone scores or your own) and a fastest-lap bonus. Leave out a test race with one click (it isn't deleted), or start a new championship: the standings go back to zero but no results are deleted.
- Recent sessions: the final classification of every practice, qualifying and race. The last 200 races and 50 other sessions are kept (as JSON in
.rh/results); older ones are removed automatically.
7. Join your server
In ACC go to Multiplayer → Server List and search for your server name. Enter the join password if you set one.
8. Automatic restarts and backups
Under the Console, the Automation box turns on a daily restart and a daily backup at a time you choose (UK time). Daily backups keep your most recent backups and replace the oldest automatically; lock a backup in the Backups tab to keep it for good. You can take and restore backups yourself at any time from the Backups tab. Restoring a backup replaces the server's current files with the ones in the backup.
Advanced
Everything is also kept as normal, readable JSON in the config folder (event.json, eventRules.json, assistRules.json,
settings.json, entrylist.json, bop.json) if you'd rather edit files. Don't edit the copies in server/cfg: they're rewritten on every start.
ACC's own result files are in server/results.
